NHS dental care in Bagshot
All treatment that is clinically necessary to protect and maintain good oral health is available on the NHS. Charges are fixed by the government and are the same wherever you are treated in England.
NHS Charges
Fixed NHS charge bands
There are three NHS charge bands. You only pay one charge per course of treatment, even if you need several treatments.
Examination & Advice
Covers an examination, diagnosis and advice. Where necessary, includes X-rays, a scale and polish, and planning for any further treatment needed.
Fillings & Extractions
Covers all treatment in Band 1, plus further treatment such as fillings, root canal treatment, and tooth extractions.
Crowns & Dentures
Covers all treatments in Bands 1 and 2, plus more complex procedures such as crowns, dentures and bridges.
What's covered
NHS dental treatments
The NHS provides any treatment you need to keep your mouth, teeth and gums healthy and free of pain. This includes dentures, crowns and bridges.
Dental implants and orthodontic treatment such as braces are available on the NHS, but only where there is a clinical need.
Cosmetic treatments — such as teeth whitening — that are not clinically necessary are not available on the NHS and must be provided privately.
Free treatment
Who gets free NHS treatment?
You may be entitled to free NHS dental treatment if you are:
- Under 18 (or under 19 in full-time education)
- Pregnant, or had a baby in the last 12 months
- Receiving Income-related Employment & Support Allowance
- Receiving Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
- Receiving Universal Credit (subject to income threshold)
- Receiving NHS Low Income Scheme (HC2/HC3 certificate)
If you or your partner receive qualifying benefits, your dependents under 20 may also be eligible for free treatment.
